CrimeaPRESS reports:
On February 8, at 18:25, the Crisis Management Center received a message about a fire in the forest floor in the area of the “Hare Path” above Yalta.
Fire and rescue units of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea, Livadia and Central Forestry and Hunting Enterprises were immediately sent to the scene of the incident. Upon arrival at the scene, it was determined that the forest floor had caught fire. There was no threat of fire spreading or spreading to populated areas— reported the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea.
The fire was completely extinguished this morning (at 6:40) on an area of 0.04 hectares. In total, the following forces and resources were involved in extinguishing the fire: from the RSChS: 23 people and 11 pieces of equipment.
The cause of the fire, apparently, was carelessness with fire.
There could not have been a thunderstorm factor yesterday, so only the human factornoted environmentalists.
An important detail: the scale of the forest fire could have been much worse. The almost complete absence of wind helped.
