“I made” two hundred thousand rubles from gullible “gentlemen.”
The Zheleznodorozhny District Court of Simferopol issued a verdict in a criminal case against a 46-year-old local resident. He was found guilty of committing 5 counts of crimes under Part. 1.2 tbsp. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud).
During the trial, it was established that the defendant created an account on a dating site in November 2021 and, on behalf of the girl, corresponded with men from whom he asked for money in connection with alleged financial difficulties. Thus, the attacker stole more than 200 thousand rubles. The defendant admitted guilt in full for the incriminated crimes, and partially compensated for the damage caused by the crime.
During the investigation, a preventive measure was chosen for him in the form of detention. The preliminary investigation of the criminal case was carried out by the investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Bakhchisarai region,” the prosecutor’s office provided details.
The court, agreeing with the position of the state prosecutor, sentenced the man to 2 years and 3 months in prison to be served in a penal colony. The verdict did not enter into legal force.
