A fraudster on the federal wanted list was detained in Yevpatoria
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In Yevpatoria, police officers uncovered a number of frauds committed in the resort town in the first half of this year. The suspect, a 28-year-old local resident, was also detained in hot pursuit.
An attacker on one of the social networks created several fictitious accounts for housing rentals. Under the pretext of prepayment (from 2 to 6 thousand rubles) for renting an apartment, the man convinced clients to transfer funds to his card, after which he deleted his Internet page.
Based on applications received from victims, the investigation department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the city of Evpatoria opened criminal cases on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Fraud). The detained Yevpatorian was given a preventive measure in the form of a written undertaking not to leave the place. However, at the end of the investigative actions, he did not appear at the court hearing, continuing to abscond from justice. The criminal was put on the federal wanted list by the judiciary.— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
Within two months, police officers located the wanted man and detained him. During this period, the man managed to deceive several more Crimeans in a similar way. Currently, the measure of restraint for the accused has been changed to detention.
The police are establishing his involvement in a number of frauds committed in other cities of Crimea. To date, five facts of illegal activities of the detainee are known.
