A gang of racketeers was detained in Crimea — they extorted a million from a businessman from Feodosia
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Officers of the FSB Directorate for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol detained three gang members suspected of extorting 1 million rubles from an entrepreneur from Feodosia for a share in the business. This was reported by the press service of the regional FSB Directorate.
Three residents of the city of Feodosia extorted 1 million rubles under threat of physical violence from a local entrepreneur for a share in a business or ownership of equipment worth about 4.5 million rubles. Based on this fact, the investigative department of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in Feodosia opened a criminal case under paragraphs “a”, “c”, “d”, part 2 of Art. 163 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (extortion by a group of persons using violence on a large scale). The sanction of the article provides for up to seven years in prisonthe message says.
During operational search activities, one of the gang members was caught red-handed by FSB officers while receiving part of the money from the businessman — 150 thousand rubles. The second tried to escape, but was detained at one of the livestock farms in Beregovoe.
The necessary investigative actions are now being carried out aimed at establishing other episodes of illegal activities of the gang of racketeers.
