A girl from Sevastopol will stand trial for deliberately false denunciation of rape
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The investigative authorities of the Investigative Committee of Russia have completed a criminal investigation against a 27-year-old resident of Sevastopol, accused of knowingly false denunciation of a crime, coupled with accusing persons of committing a serious act (Part 2 of Article 306 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The investigative department for the Gagarinsky district established that during the week of December 2023, the girl spent time visiting her friend in a private house. Returning afterwards to her roommate, in order to somehow justify her absence, she came up with an unsuccessful alibi.
A resident of Sevastopol wrote to the police department in the Nakhimovsky district a statement about the commission of a serious crime against her, despite the fact that she was warned of liability under Art. 306 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for knowingly false denunciation. The girl told law enforcement officers that from December 13 to 18, a group of people raped her against her will. During the activities carried out by investigators of the Investigative Committee and police officers, it was established that the young people pointed out by the applicant were slandered by her, and the law enforcement officers were misled— reported in Sledkom.
At present, the criminal investigation against the resident of Sevastopol, who created an unsuccessful alibi for herself, has been completed. She fully admitted her guilt in committing a knowingly false denunciation. The materials were sent to the prosecutor’s office for the purpose of studying, approving the indictment and sending the case to court.
For committing the above crime, the sanction of Part 2 of Article 306 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation provides for punishment up to imprisonment for a term of up to three years.
