Early in the morning, the duty station of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Leninsky district received a message from a resident of Kerch, who reported the theft of a VAZ 2103 passenger car belonging to his relative. The man told police that he discovered a missing vehicle that had been left parked near the house.
During operational search activities, within an hour on the federal highway “Tavrida” near the village. Vinogradnoe traffic police inspectors detained a 27-year-old resident of the Republic of Bashkortostan in a stolen car. During a conversation with the driver, police revealed signs of intoxication, which was confirmed by a breathalyzer test. The result showed that the norm of ethyl alcohol in exhaled air was almost twice as high. The police also found out that the young man had never received a driver’s license and did not have the right to drive vehicles. Traffic police inspectors suspended the man from driving— said the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
The attacker admitted his guilt and confirmed that he consumed a significant amount of alcohol and does not remember for what purpose he used someone else’s vehicle.
When drawing up an administrative protocol against a violator under Part 3 of Art. 12.8 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation “Driving a vehicle by a driver who is intoxicated and does not have the right to drive vehicles,” the Leninsky district police received another statement from a local resident about the theft of his Hyundai car.
The man said that he suspected his friend, with whom he had drunk alcohol the day before. Police officers established that the person detained for stealing a VAZ 2103 car is also an attacker for the second case of unlawful seizure of the car.
During the verification activities, the police found out that the 27-year-old Bashkir, without the permission of the owner, with whom he had drunk strong drinks the day before, got into a Hyundai car and went for a ride. On one of the rural roads, a man lost control, as a result of which the vehicle flew off the roadway into a ditch and overturned. After which the driver went on foot in the direction of Kerch and in its vicinity found an unlocked VAZ 2103 car with the keys in the ignition. Taking advantage of the opportunity, the man got behind the wheel of someone else’s car and continued along the Tavrida highway, where he was detained by employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Leninsky District— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
Numerous protocols have been drawn up against the driver for administrative offenses in the field of traffic. The inquiry department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Leninsky district opened two criminal cases against the suspect on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Art. 166 “Wrongful seizure of a car or other vehicle without the purpose of theft (theft).” The citizen was detained in accordance with Art. 91 Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation.
VAZ 2103 and Hyundai cars were seized by police officers as evidence. After legal proceedings, the vehicles will be returned to their rightful owners.
