A high-tech student sports section was opened in Yalta
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Crimean Federal University opened the first section of high-tech student sports on the basis of the Humanitarian Pedagogical Academy, a branch of the university in Yalta. The section is equipped with everything necessary for the development of new sports disciplines: drone racing, sports laser tag and VR technologies in sports.
This is the first such project on the southern coast of Crimea, and I am confident that together with the city administration and the Ministry of Sports we will push forward a new high-tech direction. A section will operate on a permanent basis, with space for drone flight training. Upon request, we will come here with a team to conduct sports laser tag competitions and intensive drone racing sessions– the press service of the university quotes the head of the KFU project “High-tech student sports” Igor Boyko.
As part of the opening of the section, specialists from the Center for Unmanned Aerial Systems of the Crimean Federal University held a master class on controlling a special drone used for flying in enclosed spaces, and also spoke about the nuances and intricacies of pilot training. Afterwards, the first sports laser tag tournament was held among students of the Humanities and Pedagogical Academy.
We are very pleased with the opening of the section. Today this is a new direction in sports, relevant for all of Russia. I think that our guys, including college students, are ready to respond to such events, – emphasizes the director of the Humanitarian and Pedagogical Academy of KFU. V. I. Vernadsky Natalya Gorbunova.
The “High-Tech Student Sports” project is being implemented at the Crimean Federal University as part of the “Priority 2030” strategic academic leadership program.
