A large student ball was held in Sevastopol

CrimeaPRESS reports:

On the Day of Russian Students , student volunteers of the city took part in a large student ball «In the Rhythm of Kindness». The project «Big Student Ball» by the activist and director of theatrical performances Alexander Ulanov received grant support from the Government of Sevastopol. 150 000 rubles. The goal of the project is to unite young people who are engaged in volunteering on the basis of cultural and creative interaction.

We support the initiatives of our youth, and for this we hold annual project competitions. In December, the results of the contest of volunteer initiatives were summed up. One of the winners in the Event Volunteering nomination was Alexander Ulanov with the Big Student Ball project. This year it is dedicated to volunteers: with a lot of competition, the participants were our best guys, who today performed a great polonaise, different types of waltzes, quadrille. In addition to daily training under the guidance of the Honored Artist of the Republic of Crimea Oleg Stadniychuk, the guys held a series of master classes on the history of balls, etiquette and the culture of social events. Definitely, we will continue to hold the ball and look for new venues so that as many participants as possible can become part of this beautiful project , the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes Vice Governor Igor Mikheev.

To participate in the ball, couples were selected among the students of the city of Sevastopol, who most actively showed themselves in volunteer activities.

Sevastopol has strong ballroom traditions, the city is imbued with the Russian spirit and what if not a ball, having carried through the centuries, preserves these traditions. On this day, my team and I decided to combine two close areas: students and volunteers, because most of the volunteers are students. That is why we made a volunteers’ ball just in time for the Student’s Day. In addition to dancing, we decided to dedicate the participants to the culture of the ball, talked about different eras , — says Alexander Ulanov.

In the program of the ball, the participants performed polonaise, Spanish waltz, pas de grasse, Scottish waltz, official branle, Russian quadrille, Viennese waltz, sirtaki, triplet gallop, participated in the game «Brook» and the master class «Pas de patiner» .

The musical accompaniment of the ball was provided by the New Harmony Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Denis Karlov, Chief Conductor, Russian Government Fellow, State Prize Laureate, Honored Artist of the Republic of Crimea.
