CrimeaPRESS reports:

There are plans to open a children’s vision care office.

On the basis of the Evpatoria City Hospital, a Medical Ophthalmological Center is being developed, where specialized care is provided to adults and children living in the northwestern regions of Crimea (Saki, Razdolnensky, Chernomorsky and Pervomaisky districts, as well as in the cities of Evpatoria and Saki). The Minister of Health of the Republic of Crimea Konstantin Skorupsky spoke about this.

Since 2020, the medical ophthalmological center of Evpatoria has been carrying out complex methods of surgical treatment of the eyes — surgical treatment of cataracts, glaucoma, surgery of eye injuries, administration of drugs into the vitreous cavity aimed at treating diabetic retinopathy of the retina, wet forms of macular degeneration, thrombosis, retinal veins. Methods of operations on the anterior segment of the eye, eyelid surgery and others are also mastered.

Since 2023, the Medical Ophthalmology Center has been providing high-tech medical care — for example, surgical treatment of complicated cataracts with reconstruction of the anterior chamber of the eye. Over the past year, 1,370 operations were performed at the Medical Ophthalmological Center, of which 1,050 cases of surgical treatment of cataracts with implantation of an artificial lens— said Konstantin Skorupsky.

Every year, the ophthalmological medical center purchases modern equipment.

In December 2023, two surgical laser devices were delivered, which allowed us to open a new stage in the development of the center. The laser operating room will now carry out a wide range of the latest ophthalmological techniques: laser surgical treatment of the anterior and posterior parts of the eye, surgical treatment of glaucoma with hypotensive purposes, dissection of synechiae and fibrosis of the posterior capsule (after catarrhal operations), removal of limited vitreous opacities. Also, new devices will be used to treat retinal degeneration, degenerative forms of myopia, diabetic retinopathy of the retina, prevention of retinal detachments, and some types of glaucoma— said the head of the republican Ministry of Health.

In 2024, I plan to open a children’s vision care office here. At the expense of compulsory health insurance funds, the office will treat young patients with strabismus, amblyapia, progressive myopia, and congenital anomalies of the organ of vision.
