A law has been passed prohibiting the dismissal of single parents of children under 16 years of age.
The State Duma adopted lawwhich protects parents who raise children alone from dismissal.
The adoption of the law will prohibit employers from firing single mothers and fathers who are raising children under 16 years of age. This rule now applies to parents of children under 14 years of age.,” said Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.
According to him, «Voters have repeatedly asked deputies to make appropriate changes to legislation«
Children under 16 still need help. In such a situation, the dismissal of a mother who is raising a child alone can leave the family without a livelihood. We must protect single parents and employers must understand their responsibilities,” Volodin emphasized.
