A local resident was detained in Alushta on suspicion of illegal storage and cultivation of narcotic plants

CrimeaPRESS reports:

During the implementation of the operational and preventive measure «Poppy-2024», employees of the drug control and criminal investigation department of the OMVD of Russia for the city of Alushta, during an inspection of an outbuilding on the dacha plot of a 39-year-old previously unconvicted local resident, found 12 plastic containers with hemp plants, a plastic bag with dried leaves that have a specific smell, as well as a special phyto-lamp designed for growing various crops.

The examination confirmed that the provided plant shoots belong to the Cannabis genus and contain a narcotic substance, and the dried gray-green leaves with a total weight of more than 130 grams, calculated as dried substance, are parts of the hemp plant. The suspect admitted his guilt and told the police that he had been cultivating illegal plants for about six months. He grew and dried the narcotic plant for personal use.— the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Crimea noted.
