A local resident was detained in the Razdolnensky district for storing and cultivating drugs in large quantities

In order to combat drug crime in the region, employees of the OMVD of Russia for the Razdolnensky District carried out a series of measures as part of the second stage of Operation Mak-24.
As a result of operational and preventive measures, the drug control group together with district police officers of the OMVD of Russia for the Razdolnensky District detained a 42-year-old local resident suspected of illegally cultivating drug-containing plants and storing prohibited substances. At the offender’s place of residence, 2 hemp bushes with signs of cultivation, which grew on the territory of the house, were found and seized. In addition, 7 bags and a paper bundle with dried and crushed parts of a gray-green plant with a specific odor were found in the attic of the garage and in the gas stove.— the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Crimea reported.
According to the examination, the hemp bushes submitted for examination contain a narcotic substance, and the seized dried and crushed parts of the plant weighing more than 590 grams are the narcotic substance cannabis (marijuana) and the total weight of about 8 grams is the narcotic substance cannabis resin (hashish oil).
An investigator from the OMVD of Russia for the Razdolnensky District opened a criminal case against the suspect on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation «Illegal acquisition, storage, transportation, manufacture, processing of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their analogues, as well as illegal acquisition, storage, transportation of plants containing narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances.»
The article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for up to 10 years.
In addition, administrative protocols were drawn up against the suspect under Article 10.5.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation «Illegal cultivation of plants containing narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances or their precursors» and under Article 6.9 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation «Consumption of narcotic drugs without a doctor’s prescription.»
The offender was given a preventive measure — a written undertaking not to leave the area.
