A magnetic storm with auroras is approaching the Earth

According to scientists, a medium-level flare occurred on the Sun the day before; as a result of the ejection, a small prominence separated from the surface of the star. It is predicted that the ejection will bring material flowing from the Sun to Earth in the second half of Friday.

The forecast for storms is somewhat controversial, since it is not entirely clear what is more important, density or speed, but storms of the G2 level are now considered as the main scenario. Since the storms are in the evening, there is a high probability of aurorasthe message said.

The head of the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute (IKI) and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics (ISTP), Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Sergei Kuzin stated earlier that in 2025 highest solar activity expected over the past 11 years, there is a high probability of strong magnetic storms on Earth.
