A man got lost in the mountainous forest zone of the Bakhchisaray region. They searched for seven hours

In the mountainous forest zone of the Bakhchisaray district, the man lost his way and lost his bearings. In addition, he was walking along an unmarked route.
Yesterday at 12:30 the rescue service received a signal that a man was lost in the mountain and forest area near the tourist camp «Tea House». The Bakhchisaray ASO consisting of 4 people and employees of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea left to search for the citizen. Upon arrival at the «Tea House» camp, the rescuers began to examine the mountain and forest area near it. Seven hours later, the man was found in the area of Mount Ayu-Teshik. He did not need medical assistance. Employees of the State Institution of the Republic of Crimea «KRYM-SPAS» accompanied him to the service car and took him to the village of Sokolinoye. As it turned out, the tourist had been hiking for three days already. He started his route from the village of Ternovka (Balaklava district). In the mountain and forest area of the Bakhchisaray district, the man lost his way and lost his bearings. Besides, he was walking along an unmarked route, The press service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry in Crimea reported.
In total, during the search, rescuers examined about 12 km of mountainous and forested terrain. The work was complicated by the lack of communication with the man and the onset of darkness.
Let us remind you, by order of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Crimeafrom 27.06.2024 the restriction on citizens’ stay in forests has been extended, with the exception of places of restspecified in this order.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea warns:
- Before going into the mountain forest zone, carefully study your route;
- take the choice of comfortable clothes and shoes seriously;
- Among the things that you need to take with you, there must be: warm clothes, additional power sources for your mobile phone and a flashlight. It is also advisable to have a GPS navigator with you.
- for movement you should choose the safest and most marked route, even if it is longer;
- Before starting to move, you should carefully assess the possible dangers, taking into account weather conditions and the likelihood of obstacles;
- you need to be prepared for the unexpected and be able to recognize approaching danger, taking timely precautions;
- Don’t shorten your path at the expense of safety;
- You should not make crossings in poor visibility (fog) or at night;
- dangerous rocky areas should be overcome only in case of extreme necessity, strictly observing safety and insurance rules;
- avoid walking on slopes and gutters with loose stones;
- Calculate your return time from the Glasgow Lake correctly.
