A man suspected of a series of thefts was detained in Sevastopol
CrimeaPRESS reports:
It was established that a 29-year-old Sevastopol resident, passing by one of the entrances of an apartment building, noticed a glass entrance door, through which he saw two scooters on the landing. Pulling the handle, he easily entered the building and, since he was intoxicated, decided to ride one of the scooters. The offender rolled it out of the entrance and drove away, and after some time he got tired and simply left the vehicle in the middle of the road. A little later, the man remembered that there was another scooter in the entrance, and returned there again. Having taken someone else’s property, the suspect went for a ride on it, but also later left it somewhere in the courtyards along his route. That same evening, the man returned to the scene of the crime for the third time, but entered a different entrance, having entered in a similar way. From there, he left with someone else’s stunt bike, which he later sold to a random passerby. The total amount of damage was about 14 thousand rubles.— the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol announced the details of the case.
Having discovered the absence of the vehicles, the owners filed statements with the police. As a result of operational and investigative measures, the criminal investigation officers of the OMVD of Russia for the Leninsky District identified and detained the offender, who confessed to everything and repented.
The investigation department has opened criminal cases against the detainee under Part 1 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation «Theft», and he faces up to two years in prison.
