A man suspected of stealing solar panels from an apartment building was detained in Sevastopol

The Sevastopol police emphasize that the detainee’s involvement in the theft of solar panels is confirmed by surveillance camera recordings.
A 41-year-old local resident contacted the police. The man said that during his absence, an unknown person stole two solar panels worth a total of 60 thousand rubles from the stairwell of an apartment building, which he kept in the entrance for convenience. As a result of the measures taken, officers of the patrol service, in cooperation with officers of the criminal investigation department of the Department of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Gagarinsky district, detained the suspect. He turned out to be a 40-year-old local resident who had no previous convictions. The attacker did not have time to dispose of the stolen property; the police seized the stolen panels, which will be returned to the owner after the completion of the investigation.,” noted the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol.
A criminal case has been initiated against the detainee under Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Theft”, he faces a penalty of imprisonment for up to five years.
