A man was detained in Sevastopol for selling drugs in public transport

Having agreed with the position of the state prosecutor of the prosecutor’s office of the city of Sevastopol, the court pronounced a guilty verdict against a 44-year-old local resident under paragraph “a” of Part 2 of Art. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal sale of narcotic drugs in public transport).
It was established that on June 21, 2022, at lunchtime, a man on board a bus traveling along route No. 94 from Ushakov Square towards Balaklava met a buyer and gave him the drug “methadone” weighing 0.129 g. Immediately after this, at a public bus stop transport «Technical Library» the attacker was detained by police. The defendant admitted his guilt, during the investigation helped to suppress the criminal activities of other persons, independently stopped using drugs and repented of his actions,” reported the press service of the Sevastopol prosecutor’s office.
The Leninsky District Court of Sevastopol, taking into account the opinion of the state prosecutor, the circumstances of the crime, the personality and behavior of the perpetrator, sentenced the man to imprisonment for a term of 3 years to be served in a high-security correctional colony.
