A man was detained in Sevastopol for stealing gold jewelry from a thrift store.

A thief who robbed a thrift store was caught in Sevastopol. Taking advantage of the fact that the seller was distracted by work with another client, the attacker, unnoticed by others, stole jewelry worth more than 54 thousand rubles from the display case.
It was established that a 34-year-old local resident, who had previously been convicted of property crimes, did not take the path of reform and decided to commit another theft of someone else’s property. For this purpose, he came to one of the city thrift stores and during his visit noticed that the display case with jewelry was not protected in any way and every visitor had free access to the goods presented. After waiting for the moment when the seller was distracted by another customer, the suspect grabbed two gold rings and earrings from the display case, after which he left the store and disappeared in an unknown direction. He sold the stolen gold jewelry to a random passer-by and spent the proceeds on his own needs.— told the details to the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol.
Officers of the criminal investigation department of the Department of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Gagarinsky district detained the attacker, and the investigation department opened a criminal case against him on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Theft”). The sanction of the article provides for up to two years of imprisonment.
