A man who stole the same Mercedes twice was detained in Sevastopol
CrimeaPRESS reports:
A local resident was detained in Sevastopol, suspected of two facts of illegal possession of a vehicle.
It was established that at night 26-year-old man, previously convicted of stealing, opened the driver’s door of a Mercedes parked on Pavel Korchagin Street with a screwdriver, climbed inside, started the engine and stole a car. When the tank ran out of fuel, the hijacker abandoned the foreign car near the Gypsy Tunnel in Inkerman.
The car was returned to the owner, and he immediately changed the locks for security purposes, but this did not help: five days later, the same hijacker noticed a familiar Mercedes and stole it according to the previous scheme. Almost immediately, the man noticed the loss of his vehicle and contacted the police. In hot pursuit, investigators, together with traffic police officers, detained an attacker on Ostryakov Avenue , — they told the details of two hijackings at the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol.
A criminal case was initiated against the detainee under Part 1 of Art. 166 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Unlawful possession of a car or other vehicle without the purpose of theft”), he faces up to 5 years in prison.
