A married couple will go to prison for running a brothel and selling cannabis in Crimea

CrimeaPRESS reports:

For two – 26 years in prison.

In Crimea, the Kirovsky District Court issued a verdict in a criminal case against residents of the village of Zhuravki. A man and a woman (married couple) were found guilty by the court of committing crimes under Part 2 of Art. 232 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (systematic provision of premises for the consumption of narcotic drugs, committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy), paragraph “a”, part 3 of Art. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal sale of narcotic drugs committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy).

During the trial, it was established that in February 2023, the cohabitants entered into a criminal conspiracy and subsequently repeatedly, in February, March and April, provided premises at the place of residence to their acquaintances for the purpose of using drugs. The provision of premises to drug addicts was paid for by them by transferring alcohol-containing liquid to the convicts for consumption.

They are in the winter of 2023, being in close proximity to their place of residence in the village. The Zhuravki discovered bushes of a wild hemp plant, which they collected and stored for drying at their place of residence for the purpose of further sale. After a short time, the convicts found a buyer to whom they sold the narcotic drug cannabis for a monetary reward.— the prosecutor’s office gave details

The criminal actions of the convicts were stopped by law enforcement officers during operational search activities.

Taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, a 42-year-old man was sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment to be served in a maximum security colony, and a 30-year-old woman was sentenced to 12 years of imprisonment to be served in a general regime correctional colony. The court’s verdict did not enter into legal force.
