The medal is supposed to reward citizens for their personal contribution to the annexation of the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol with the Russian Federation.
The decision to establish an anniversary medal was made at a session of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea, with the wording “to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the reunification of Crimea with Russia 2014-2024.” It is planned to award “for courage, heroism, active political activity and personal contribution to the reunification of Crimea with Russia; for participation in the preparation and conduct of the all-Crimean referendum on March 16, 2014.” In addition, citizens who in 2014 protected the rights and lives of citizens of the republic and showed courage in protecting public order will be able to apply for the medal.notes «Sevastopol newspaper».
On the front side of the medal there is an image of the Crimean Bridge framed by cartographic images of the Kerch and Taman Peninsulas. On the left at the top of the medal is the inscription “Crimea with Russia”, on the right are the dates “2014-2024”. On the reverse side is the inscription “In commemoration of the tenth anniversary of the reunification of Crimea with Russia.”
