A meeting of the Council on Interethnic and Interfaith Relations under the Head of the Republic of Crimea was held

The head of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, held a meeting of the Council for Interethnic and Interfaith Relations under the Head of the Republic of Crimea with the participation of leaders of religious organizations and national-cultural autonomies.
The event participants discussed the main results of work in the field of interethnic and interfaith relations over the past year, and also outlined plans and objectives for 2024.
Opening the meeting, Sergei Aksyonov emphasized the importance of preserving interethnic and interfaith harmony in Crimea.
We manage to develop and move forward precisely because all the peoples living in the republic respect each other’s traditions and culture and are not divided along national or religious lines. There will be no ethnic conflicts in Crimea. Of course, this is a great merit of spiritual mentors representing traditional faiths and public figures, mutual understanding between whom is an example for peoplesaid the Head of Crimea.
At the same time, the Head of the Republic noted that it is necessary to continue to consolidate around President Vladimir Putin.
Crimea is developing primarily thanks to the efforts and attention of our Leader, including in matters of ensuring interethnic peace and harmony. We all need to act as one, support the President and his decisions to accomplish all tasks as efficiently as possible,” added the Head of the Republic of Crimea.
The head of the Crimean Metropolis, His Eminence Metropolitan Tikhon of Simferopol and Crimea, emphasized the important role of the leaders of religious organizations of traditional faiths in preserving interethnic and interreligious harmony. According to the Bishop, thanks to the joint work of the federal and regional authorities with the clergy, mutual respect and unity of all peoples are maintained in the country.
Mufti of the Muslims of Crimea, Haji Emirali Ablaev, called for taking issues of interethnic and interreligious relations seriously, calling mutual respect the main component of peace and harmony in Crimea. As the Mufti said, people of all nationalities and religions need to be able to listen and appreciate each other for the sake of the common good.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea Mikhail Nazarov, Acting Minister of Internal Policy, Information and Communications of the Republic of Crimea Albert Kurshutov, Chairman of the State Committee for Interethnic Relations of the Republic of Crimea Aider Tippa, representatives of religious denominations, heads of national-cultural autonomies, and others.
