A memorial plaque was unveiled in the Crimean village of Svetloye in honor of the pilots who died near Dzhankoy

In the village of Svetloye, a ceremony was held to unveil a memorial plaque in memory of the flight crew who died in a helicopter crash in the Dzhankoy district. Deputy Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea Alla Ponomarenko took part in the memorable event.
The deputy commander of the first helicopter squadron, holder of the Order of Courage, Major Evgeniy Polyakov, and the senior pilot, holder of the Order of Courage, Captain Nikita Kostin, died on May 12, 2023 while performing training flights.
Today we once again pay tribute to the memory and respect of all those who, without sparing their lives, fight for a peaceful sky, for the future of our country— emphasized Alla Ponomarenko.
The monument was installed in the village. Svetloye near the restored mass grave of fallen pilots and sailors of the Great Patriotic War. These two monuments have become a symbol of the connection between generations of heroes.
