A minor who enjoys free rides on scooters was detained in Simferopol

The Simferopol police received a complaint from a local individual entrepreneur about the theft of electric scooters, which he rented out for short-term rent.
Officers of the criminal investigation department of the police department No. 1 “Zheleznodorozhny” of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Simferopol identified a 14-year-old local resident who stole three electric scooters over the course of several days by damaging charging stations and locks. Having ridden enough, the suspect left the vehicles along the route. The damage caused to the entrepreneur amounted to about 200 thousand rubles. Police officers located two vehicles, which were returned to their rightful owners. Police are currently establishing the whereabouts of another electric scooter.,” noted the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Crimea.
The investigator of OP No. 1 “Zheleznodorozhny” of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Simferopol initiated criminal cases on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft). The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to five years.
The suspect was given a preventive measure in the form of a recognizance not to leave the place.
