Early today in Kerch, fire-tactical exercises of the second rank of complexity took place, in which 32 personnel and 7 pieces of equipment were involved from the emergency department. The object of the training was children’s music school No. 1.
The main purpose of the exercise is to practice the actions of fire departments of the Ministry of Emergency Situations when extinguishing a fire, carrying out emergency rescue operations at facilities with large numbers of people, as well as checking the functioning of fire protection systems— reported the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea.
According to the tactical plan, the mock fire broke out early in the morning. His hearth was on the second floor of the building. The cause of the fire was a short circuit in one of the spotlights in the large concert hall. A school employee who discovered initial signs of burning called emergency services.
Five minutes after the alarm call, the first fire crews of the Kerch garrison arrived. At the scene of the mock incident, employees of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations set up an operational headquarters. GDZS units conducted reconnaissance of smoke-filled premises. Firefighters found two teachers on the ground floor who were unable to leave the building on their own. They evacuated the mock victims to a safe area using self-rescuers.
Thanks to the prompt and coordinated actions of all participants in the exercise, the “fire” was extinguished within an hour on an area of 300 square meters. The objectives and goals of the training have been achieved.
Objects with large concentrations of people include buildings and structures in which 50 or more people can be permanently or temporarily located. A fire in such a place can cause a large number of casualties. Therefore, developing the professional skills of employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia and the tactics of organizing fire extinguishing at such facilities can reduce the time of fire extinguishing and save people’s livesthe emergency department emphasized.
