Previously Zubkov reportedthat the lions that tore Perevalova to pieces will not be euthanized. According to Zubkov, after the incident nothing threatens park visitors; animals are served as usual.

In 2021, employees of the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol opened a case regarding a predator attack on a one-year-old child in a safari park, as a result of which he lost a finger. In May 2024, the Central District Court of Simferopol re-examined the case against Zubkov after the incident with the predator, and handed down a sentence of one year of suspended imprisonment with a probationary period.
