A monument to an employee who died in a predator attack will be erected in the Taigan Lion Park

CrimeaPRESS reports:

A monument to the employee of the Taigan lion park and the director of the Skazka zoo, Leokadia Perevalova, who was torn to pieces by predators in Taigan, will be erected on the territory of the park, said the director of the institution Oleg Zubkov.

We will definitely erect a monument to Leocadia Vladimirovna directly in the park. <...> Here, in Taigan Park, so that those who knew her, employees and visitors who will come to the park know that it has a very difficult history, — he said.

Previously Zubkov reportedthat the lions that tore Perevalova to pieces will not be euthanized. According to Zubkov, after the incident nothing threatens park visitors; animals are served as usual.

REFERENCE: Safari Park «Taigan» is located in the Belogorsk region of Crimea on the shore of the Taigan reservoir. In 2021, employees of the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol opened a case regarding a predator attack on a one-year-old child in a safari park, as a result of which he lost a finger. In May 2024, the Central District Court of Simferopol re-examined the case against Zubkov after the incident with the predator, and handed down a sentence of one year of suspended imprisonment with a probationary period.
