A mural dedicated to the Hero of the Soviet Union, Marshal Fyodor Ivanovich Tolbukhin will appear on the facade of the building of Simferopol school No. 4.

According to the director of the educational institution, Victoria Kubanova, the mural measuring 123.5 square meters was created over the course of a week by a team of Crimean artists. A lot of sketch options were proposed. They were carefully considered by the school’s senior council.

Naturally, the guys stopped at the image of F.I. Tolbukhin, because there is a portrait, and awards, and, of course, the St. George Ribbon, which is always symbolized with history, with the flame of our homeland, which always triumphs over the enemy, noted the school director. – Work on painting the mural started on September 29. The creation is carried out by an initiative group of young artists and restorers. And the guys draw quite quickly. I think that he will preserve the memory of Fyodor Ivanovich Tolbukhin in the hearts of children for many years.

Three artists are participating in the mural project. To create an image, about 100-150 liters of paint are used, using a spray gun, brushes and rollers.

We use spray guns to fill in common spots. Some parts are drawn in with brushes and filled in with them, large volumes are filled with rollers. Very painstaking and hard work will be done on the eyes, lips, eyebrows to convey the emotionality of the portrait. Due to the details it will look alive and beautiful— said the artist of the project.

Fyodor Ivanovich Tolbukhin — Russian military leader, Marshal of the Soviet Union, Hero of the Soviet Union, holder of the Order of Victory, People’s Hero of Yugoslavia, Hero of the People’s Republic of Bulgaria. He led army troops in the Battle of Stalingrad, participated in the liberation of Yugoslavia from the Nazi invaders and the defeat of the enemy in Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, and Austria.

The project to create murals on apartment buildings with thematic images dedicated to famous personalities, public holidays and significant events in Russia and Crimea is being implemented with the support of the State Committee for Youth Policy of the Republic of Crimea and the ANO “House of Youth”.
