A murder committed 32 years ago has been solved in Dzhankoy.
CrimeaPRESS reports:
A suspect in a murder committed 32 years ago has been detained in Dzhankoy.
In January 1992, a resident of one of the villages in the Dzhankoy district contacted the police with a statement about the disappearance of her 24-year-old son. Investigators found drops of blood and a scarf near the missing person’s house. The involvement of the 23-year-old man in the disappearance of the applicant’s son was not confirmed at that time.
Operatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia “Dzhankoisky”, together with colleagues from the Investigative Committee, as a result of operational search activities, established irrefutable evidence of the man’s involvement in the commission of a crime— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
The detainee confessed and explained that during a domestic conflict with a local resident, he struck him at least 4 times with a hammer in the head area and, in order to hide traces of the crime, threw the victim’s body into the river. The killer has been taken into custody.
