A network of illegal gambling establishments was stopped in Crimea

Employees of the Department of Economic Security and Anti-Corruption of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea stopped the activities of 11 gambling establishments in the region. It has been previously established that the attackers have been engaged in criminal business since 2021. They rented premises on the ground floors of buildings in major cities and regions of the peninsula. More than 50 people were involved in illegal gambling activities. The group’s daily income was more than three million rubles.
Two organizers were detained, as well as an IT specialist who ensured the operation of gaming halls, installed software on terminals and adjusted winning odds. During the searches, police, with the forceful support of employees of the Russian National Guard, seized about 150 pieces of gaming equipment, cash in the amount of about 2.5 million rubles, cash registers and other items of evidentiary value— said the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk.
Two defendants were given a preventive measure in the form of detention, one – in the form of house arrest. The third alleged organizer has been put on the federal wanted list.
According to available information, illegal activities were carried out by those detained in other regions of Russia. More than 300 such establishments are known. During their work, illegal income amounted to more than one billion rubles. The materials collected by the police officers were transferred to the investigative authorities for making a procedural decision.notes Irina Volk.
