The new angiograph will soon start working at the Regional Vascular Center of the city hospital No. 1. This is the second such device in the medical facility — the need for it is high. The equipment was installed as part of the implementation of the regional project «Fight against cardiovascular diseases» of the national project «Health». According to its characteristics, this angiograph is more powerful: with less radiation exposure, it will produce a more detailed image of the arteries and blood flow inside them. Also, with its help, specialists will be able to perform a wide range of diagnostic procedures, assess the integrity and structure of the vascular network, normal and accessory arteries, the location of vessels, the size of the lumen and blood flow characteristics.
The new equipment will allow us to deal with patients with diseases of the cardiovascular system more widely and more systematically. We plan that we will provide emergency and urgent care on one device, and the other will be used for planned patients. Accordingly, we will be able to expand the range of surgical interventions and help for this category of patients will be more accessible , — the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes Vladimir Kuznetsov, deputy chief physician for surgical care of the city hospital No. 1.
In addition, the angiographic unit will allow patients to operate in the shortest possible time. For example, using a set of special tools, a surgeon can remove a blood clot or plaque in a distant part of the vessel, install a stent and save the patient’s life.
The main difference between the new angiograph and the one we already have is that it is equipped with additional equipment. He has intravascular imaging installed — this is a special unit that allows you to do intravascular ultrasound, that is, we can look at the vessel from the inside using ultrasound , — says Oleg Tokarev, head of the Department of X-ray Surgical Diagnostics and Treatment of the Regional Vascular Center.
A new angiograph has already been connected, and the process of training specialists is ahead. The cost of equipment is more than 100 million rubles. The room where it was installed has been renovated.
