CrimeaPRESS reports:
A new exhibition project “Monuments from Kitey” has been opened at the Lapidarium — Museum of Stone Antiquities of Kerch.
The monuments found on the territory of the Kitey settlement and its necropolis constitute a scientifically and expositionally valuable group of museum objects. The exhibition is dedicated to the memory of Kitey researcher Evgeniy Molev, who made a significant contribution to the study of this interesting archaeological monument.
Excavations of the Kitey settlement and its necropolis provided an impressive selection of 29 anthropomorphic sculptures, most of which were finds from the Nizhny Novgorod University expedition led by Evgeniy Molev. Unique exhibits tell about the life of the ancient city, religion, and ritual activities of its population— reported the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea.
The temporary exhibition is a logical continuation of the exhibitions of the Museum of Stone Antiquities and continues acquaintance with the culture, history, and life of the Bosporans. The exhibition will last until February 1.
