A new exhibition project – “Time and Money” – has been presented in Bakhchisaray

As part of inter-museum cooperation, the Ismail Gasprinsky Memorial Complex of the Bakhchisaray Historical, Cultural and Archaeological Museum-Reserve presents the exhibition “Time and Money” from the funds of the Historical-Archaeological Museum-Reserve “Kalos Limen”.
The numismatic and bonistic collections of the Kalos Limen Museum-Reserve introduce visitors to the history of the development of monetary circulation in Russia from the second half of the 18th century to the present day.
The exhibition includes coins highlighting the history of minting — 2 kopecks from 1758, 1813 and 1852, a ½ kopeck coin from 1899, 3 and 5 kopecks from 1766-1879, as well as coins minted under Elizabeth I and Paul I. The Soviet period is represented samples from 1925-1991reports the press service of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea.
An equally interesting part of the display is paper money, which first appeared in Russia during the reign of Catherine II. The exhibition presents bonds from the reign of Nicholas II and the reforms of Sergei Witte, banknotes of the new government — the Military Revolutionary Committee of the Petrograd Council, put into circulation in 1919, as well as bonds from the Soviet period.
The exhibition is open for visiting until November 17.
