The Institute of Media Communications, Media Technology and Design of the Crimean Federal University has licensed a new area of training “Media Communications”. This was announced by the director of the institute, Alexander Mashchenko. Licensing of the field of study “Media Communications” is an important step in the development of the institute. This is due, first of all, to the high demand for graduates in the media industry not only in Crimea, but also beyond its borders. The demands of employers also determine the high competition among applicants for admission to the Crimean Federal University in such areas of training as “Journalism” (25 people per one budget place in 2023) and “Advertising and Public Relations” (53 people per one budget place in 2023). It is quite obvious that the field of study “Media Communications”, which belongs to the same enlarged group, will be in demand by applicants to no less extent, — the press service of the university quotes the director of the Institute of Mathematics and Mathematics of KFU. V.I. Vernadsky Alexander Mashchenko.

The new educational program was developed at the department of journalism and media communications of the institute under the leadership of the head of the department Diana Pervykh.

Today, the media needs converged employees, “universal fighters” who have not only the skills to work as authors, editors, presenters, but also producers, SMM specialists, media analysts and others. A modern specialist in the media industry must be familiar with the basics of sound recording and audio editing, photo and video shooting, video editing, multimedia software, web design, since today the media, as a rule, have not one, but simultaneously several formats of interaction with the audience on different media platforms . All these skills can be successfully implemented by students as part of the development of the new OPOP HE in the field of study 03/42/05 Media Communicationssays Diana First.

Let us remind you that the Institute of Media Communications, Media Technologies and Design was opened at the Crimean Federal University in 2020. The institute trains specialists in such areas as “Advertising and Public Relations”, “Publishing”, “Journalism”, “Cultural Studies” and “Graphics”.
