A new memorable date was established in Crimea — the Day of Remembrance and Glory of the Crimean partisans and underground fighters
CrimeaPRESS reports:
From now on October 23rd.
The State Council of the Republic of Crimea in two readings supported the amendments to Article 4 of the Law «On Holidays and Commemorative Dates in the Republic of Crimea». According to the Chairman of the Republican Parliament Vladimir Konstantinov, the draft law submitted by the Committee on Patriotic Education and Veterans Affairs proposes to supplement the list of memorable dates of the republic with a date of great historical and patriotic significance — the Day of Memory and Glory of the Crimean partisans and underground fighters.
It is proposed to celebrate it on October 23, since it was on this day in 1941 that the Headquarters of the partisan movement of Crimea was created. The specified date is directly related to the beginning and development of the partisan movement of the Crimeans against the German invaders on the peninsula. The adoption of the bill will perpetuate the memory of the selfless struggle behind enemy lines of the Crimean partisans and underground fightersKonstantinov said.
