A night thief robbed a resident of Simferopol. A story about the impudence of the criminal and the carelessness of the victim
CrimeaPRESS reports:
A 45-year-old local resident contacted the Simferopol police. The woman stated that an unidentified person broke into her house at night and stole money — more than 21 thousand rubles. As a result of operational search activities, criminal investigation officers established the identity of the suspect. She turned out to be a 42-year-old local resident. The woman was detained and taken to the police department, where during interrogation she confessed.
The attacker said that at the end of August this year, at night, she entered the courtyard of private apartment buildings. The lack of funds prompted her to think about theft. She entered the applicant’s home through an unlocked door. In one of the rooms she noticed a lady’s bag containing money. Taking advantage of the absence of the owner of the house, the attacker grabbed the find and fled the crime scene. She spent the stolen money that same night— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
Based on the elements of the crime provided for in Part 3 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft committed with illegal entry into a home), a criminal case was initiated. The attacker faces up to six years in prison.
Burglary is the most frequently committed property crime. But any theft can be easily prevented if you adhere to the necessary security measures: when leaving the apartment, carefully close the balcony doors, windows and vents; do not leave keys under the rug, on the electrical panel, in mailboxes and other seemingly secluded places; Install the lock from materials that cannot be drilled. Compliance with these rules will prevent the commission of a criminal attack against you and will reliably preserve your property,” the Crimean police summarized.
