A person died in the Crimean mountains. “Reserved Crimea” — to all tourists: do not be overconfident

CrimeaPRESS reports:

It is not those who cannot swim who drown. The one who is too confident in his abilities and is not afraid of the sea drowns… True? Everybody knows? Only the seasonal statistics of deaths and accidents confirms: self-confident tourists who know everything, have been everywhere, can do everything, will figure it out themselves, no problem… there are not fewer of them. Although… «natural selection» There is. And the employees of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Reserved Crimea” remind us of this. They have to deal with tourists every day. Different. The best option is to be alive and healthy.

Deviation from the official route is a violation of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, Art. 8.39 “Violation of the rules for the protection and use of natural resources in specially protected natural areas.” Sounds pretty harsh, doesn’t it? But many consider this measure too strict. Employees of the state inspection often hear in response: “why are you scaring us”, “the Crimean mountains are children’s, these are not mountains at all”, “why will it be scary if I take a couple of steps left and right”, “you’re going too far”, “why such toughness”, “I’m local, I grew up here, I know every stone here”, “I used to walk everywhere here and no one forbade me to do anything”… The incident that happened yesterday in the area of the Taraktash trail is very tragic, but we are forced to talk about him, because the mountains do not forgive frivolity and this must be remembered.

The tourist deviated from the official route by only 50 meters, and went a little off the path to photograph the beautiful view. The man is an adult, athletic, in the prime of his life. A fall from a 40-meter height left him no chance,” said employees of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Reserved Crimea”.

A rare tragic accident? With the onset of the tourist season, this happens very often. On the same day (!), before the employees of the state inspection, who had not slept all night due to search work, had time to recover from this incident, they immediately received a signal about a young man from Simferopol who, armed with a navigator, went for a walk and got stuck on the rocks. I climbed up, but couldn’t get down on my own. Fortunately, the phone was charged and the guy was able to call the rescuers. Naturally, he deviated from the official route… Fortunately, the guy is safe and alive, sent home, for which special thanks to the specialists of «CRIMEA-SPAS».

You often write to us, “you just need to be fined, you don’t care about anything else.” So, in this particular situation, if at the time of the tragedy there had been an inspector on the spot who would have stopped the violation of the visiting regime, even with a fine (alas, many take seriously only such a measure and not a “verbal warning”), one would certainly be fine the person would have remained alive… We ask: do not deviate from the official route, even if you really believe in your strength and know “every stone.” The bans do not exist to cause your indignation.— summed up the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Reserved Crimea”.

It seems like you can’t argue, the rescuers, the foresters, and the inspectors are right in everything… One “but”… Psychological. This is how our people are designed: the more prohibitions, the greater the desire to break these same prohibitions, to cross the line, as they say, “deviate one step to the right or left.” Bans and fines alone cannot change the situation. But talking about tragic incidents in the mountains, at sea… is a must! Maybe someone will listen and read…
