CrimeaPRESS reports:
This year the Hero City of Sevastopol celebrates 240 years since its founding. On the eve of this significant event, the My History Foundation, together with the Museum-Reserve, presents a photo exhibition “Chersonesos. Akhtiar. Sevastopol: from the fall of Chersonese to the founding of Sevastopol. This project is dedicated to the past, present and future of the city. Residents and guests of Sevastopol will be able to get acquainted with it on the central alley of the museum-reserve, as well as on Primorsky Boulevard until June 25.
The open-air exposition will take viewers through the centuries — tell about the amazing chronicle of the Russian cradle of Orthodoxy: from the Greek colonies to the present day, and even allow you to look several years ahead— said Ivan Yesin, director of the My History Foundation for the Humanities.
We are very glad that on the eve of the City Day we are opening an exhibition about Tauric Chersonesos, the sacred and spiritual center of Russia. We invite all Sevastopol residents and guests of the city to see the history of the city of two millennia and go from its origins to future achievements! Come see «the place where it all began» in the past, present and future— invited the director of the museum-reserve Elena Morozova.
A unique photo exhibition will allow visitors to see archival photos; in addition, the stands present footage in a multimedia format created jointly with the RIA Novosti team, which allows you to “look behind the scenes” of the construction of a new historical and archaeological park “Tauric Chersonesos”, the project for which was supported by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
In March of this year, the results of the first stage of the creation of the Tauric Chersonesos historical and archaeological park — a children’s art and aesthetic center and the Artek branch — the Korsun school, built in a record 363 days, were presented.
