A photo exhibition dedicated to the Day of Cosmonautics is presented in Simferopol
Krympress reports:
The exhibition presents more than 30 photos, including unique, dedicated to the activities of Yuri Alekseevich Gagarin, his meetings with different people. Photos show him as an ordinary person who loved his family, children, loved his work, loved life in all its manifestations, but most importantly, he loved his homeland deeply and became an example of selfless devotion to the Fatherland for all of us— Irina Kiviko emphasized.
As part of the grand opening of the exhibition, which took place at the site of the Crimean engineering and pedagogical university named after Fevisie Yakubov (Kipu), the Deputy Prime Minister said that the flight of the first person into space is an important historical event for both our country and the world as a whole.
On April 12, 1961, Yuri Gagarin, a simple Smolensk guy, took a flight into outer space. Let this flight be short -lived and lasted only 108 eight minutes, about two hours, but he paved the way into space to future generations, ”said Irina Kiviko.
The deputy chairman added that in the Crimea they remember and honor the memory of Yuri Alekseevich Gagarin. Monuments and busts, memorial boards have been installed, museums work, expositions are replenished.
It was possible to establish one interesting fact related to Evpatoria: Gagarin celebrated his last birthday on March 9, 1968 in the Crimea, in the city of Evpatoria. On this day, his meeting with the townspeople also took place. And already on March 27, he tragically died when performing a training flight on a fighter— notes Irina Kiviko.
In her entry, the Deputy Prime Minister mentioned the contribution of Crimean land to the development of space.
It is impossible not to recall the small village of Vitino in the Saksky district, where the center of long space communications is located, which provided steady contact, both with astronauts and artificial satellites. Now the Museum of the Center stores two unique documents on the stay of Gagarin. This is a personal autograph in the book of honored guests and photography. The picture is unique, the astronaut on it is in a white front uniform. The inscription was made by Gagarin’s hand and says: “The author, in my opinion, has a successful picture. Sincerely, Yu. Gagarin— Irina Kiviko reminded.
She also said that during his stay in Crimea, Gagarin and Titov visited the most famous Pioneer camp “Artek” in the USSR, where they were admitted to pioneers. On the initiative of Yuri Gagarin, the Cosmonautics Museum was opened in Artek.
In Simferopol there is an open space school named after twice Hero of the Soviet Union George Beregovoy. The space museum is open, where very interesting exhibits are stored, there are even tubes with real cosmic food.
In turn, Irina Kiviko said that the systematic work on popularizing the memory of Yuri Gagarin in Crimea is carried out by activists of the Crimean branch of Rodk.
Over the past few years alone, an exhibition of photo works about Yuri Gagarin and his stay in Cuba has been held. The alley of Russian-Cuban friendship was planted. And this is not without reason. It was the first cosmonaut who was the first president of the Friendship Society of the USSR-Cuba, and his colleague from the Cuban side was the famous revolutionary and statesman Ernesto Che Guevara, who also visited Crimea, ”Irina Kiviko commented.
She added that representatives of the Crimean branch of Rodk in 2024 visited the homeland of Yuri Alekseevich, the city of Gagarin (previously Gzhatsk), where celebrations dedicated to the 90th anniversary of his birth were held. Flowers were laid to the monuments to the first astronaut and his mother Anna Timofeevna.
The event was accompanied by an enchanting performance of the pop-spirit orchestra “Jazz-Bend Kipu” under the guidance of a honored worker in Crimea, candidate of art history, associate professor of Dilyavetor Mudinov.
