On December 29, Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev and Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government Dmitry Chernyshenko opened a new generation digital center for classical and digital sports in Sevastopol. This is the first such facility put into operation as part of the federal project “Business Sprint”. The Phygital Center is located on Kolobova Street, 21. There are active sports areas — outdoor exercise equipment, grounds for streetball and football, and stands. The building has a space with 20 gaming computers, as well as a separate room with gaming consoles and virtual reality systems.
The Phygital Center is a very important facility for Sevastopol from an educational and psychological point of view. Our children are actively involved in e-sports and exploring the virtual world. And with the help of the project, which was supported by the president, in the format of the “Games of the Future,” we give them the opportunity to combine physical development with intellectual development. Thanks to the support of the Russian Government and the personal support of Dmitry Nikolaevich, we built one of the first digital centers in the country. Now we will study this experience and share it with other regions. We plan that in the future other phygital platforms will appear in Sevastopol– quotes the press service of the Government of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev.
The opportunity to implement this project appeared thanks to a subsidy from the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation. In Sevastopol, the Computer Sports Federation has existed since 2016, and in 2023, the Physical Sports Federation was created; Sevastopol guys participate in many competitions. By the way, the largest competitions in physical sports – “Games of the Future” – will be held next year in Kazan.
The opening of a physical center in Sevastopol is an important event for residents of the Crimean peninsula. The technical and sports infrastructure is concentrated here, and we are proud that the phygital concept was created in Russia, initiated by the head of state. This format also does not depend on international sports organizations that are trying to protect us. The uniqueness of phygital lies in the fact that it combines physical and digital realities, creating a synergy of classical and e-sports — this competition format contributes to the harmonious development of the individual. More than 60 regions of Russia are already involved in the development of physical sports. More than 240 competitions will be held in 2023,” emphasizes Dmitry Chernyshenko.

Phydital (from a combination of the words physical — physical and digital — digital) is a direction of e-sports where athletes must show not only digital dexterity, but also physical fitness. For example, the guys play one half of a football game in a virtual game, and the second half is already on the football field — real and virtual goals are summed up into the final score.
