A press conference dedicated to World Patient Safety Day was held in Simferopol

CrimeaPRESS reports:

A press conference dedicated to World Patient Safety Day was held in Simferopol. Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Crimea Anton Lyaskovsky took part in it. According to him, the theme chosen for the WHO World Patient Safety Day 2023 is “Engaging patients to ensure safe health care” and the theme day slogan is “Encourage patients to speak up!” This means that this year’s focus is on raising global awareness of the need for active engagement with patients and their families in all healthcare organizations.

As the deputy head of the Crimean Ministry of Health noted, work continues in the republic’s medical institutions to introduce the principles of patient-centeredness, improving the quality and accessibility of all types of medical care. Every year in the Republic of Crimea an independent quality assessment (QA) of the conditions for the provision of services by medical organizations is carried out.

This is one of the forms of public control, which is carried out in order to provide citizens with information about the quality of the conditions for the provision of services by medical organizations, as well as in order to improve the quality of their activities,” explained Anton Lyaskovsky.

The NOC provides for the assessment of the conditions for the provision of services according to such general criteria as openness and accessibility of information about the medical organization; comfort of the conditions for the provision of medical services, including the waiting time for the provision of medical services; friendliness and politeness of employees of a medical organization; satisfaction with the conditions of service provision, as well as accessibility of medical services for people with disabilities. In 2022, an independent survey of patients from 26 medical organizations was conducted, and in 2023 it is planned to conduct NOC in 22 medical organizations in the region.
