In Crimea, a project is being implemented to grow raspberries and strawberries using a unique technology for accelerated fruiting. This was announced by the Acting Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea Alime Zaredinova.
As a result of this project, one of the enterprises of the Republic is creating its own nursery. Alime Zaredinova said that this agricultural producer grows strawberries and raspberries in protected ground using a unique technology. In the future, the farmer plans to automate production and create a nursery with its own breeding laboratory.
Despite natural disasters, as a result of which the enterprise suffered greatly in 2022, it not only continues to operate, but also increases the area of greenhouses and creates its own nursery. Crimea has always had favorable weather and climatic conditions for the development of berry production. The berries are grown both indoors and outdoors. In greenhouses, for example, garden strawberries grow on approximately 24 hectares, in which strawberries, raspberries and blackberries are also grown.
Today we see that technology does not stand still and the project that was implemented for the construction of a greenhouse complex and the introduction of artificial intelligence into the production process will make work easier and systematize it,” commented the acting Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea.
Alime Zaredinova also noted that last year Crimean farmers of all forms of ownership collected almost 200 tons of products. The leader in berry production is the Bakhchisarai region. The harvest in this area amounted to 562 tons. In total, agricultural producers from 12 regions of the Republic of Crimea are engaged in the production of berry crops.
