A realtor was detained in Sevastopol: he is suspected of misappropriation and embezzlement of funds

CrimeaPRESS reports:

It was established that a 60-year-old pensioner decided to use the services of a 46-year-old realtor to sell real estate.

Having drawn up all the necessary documents in his name, including powers of attorney to dispose of the apartment and bank account, the local resident left the Russian Federation. In accordance with the contract for the provision of services, the man had to sell the apartment and take 170 thousand rubles from the proceeds as payment for his services. However, within six months he cashed out a total of more than 1.3 million rubles from the pensioner’s account and disposed of them at his own discretion— reported the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol.

When the victim returned to the city and asked the bank for a statement of cash flows in her current account, she immediately discovered a large shortage and turned to the police for help.

Employees of the criminal investigation department of the Russian Department of Internal Affairs in the Leninsky district detained the suspect. The investigative department opened a criminal case against him under Part 4 of Art. 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Misappropriation or embezzlement committed on an especially large scale.” The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to ten years.
