A religious procession dedicated to the 600th anniversary of the appearance of the Holy Cross near the village of Godenova will arrive in Sevastopol

From September 2 to November 7, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’, the all-Russian public movement “Orthodox Russia”, the public movement “Cultural Front of Russia”, the Orthodox Missionary Society and the TV channel “Spas” are holding an all-Russian missionary religious procession dedicated to the 600th anniversary of the phenomenon Holy Cross near the village of Godenova. The route of the procession involves visiting Sevastopol from September 25 to 27 (the Cross will visit Crimea a little earlier — about it here).

The Goden Cross is one of the most famous miraculous crosses in the world. It was created in Byzantium, and on May 9, 1423, it miraculously appeared within the boundaries of Rostov the Great. Along with the bringing of the shrine, spiritual, moral, cultural and educational events are planned to be held during the religious procession— note the press service of the Government of Sevastopol.

The shrine will remain in the Intercession Cathedral in Sevastopol from September 25 to 27.

Believers will be able to venerate the Cross:

• September 25 and 26 from 7:00 to 19:00;
• September 27 from 7:00 to 10:00.

Also, on September 25 and 26 from 11:00 to 16:00, prayer services will be held in front of the Cross every hour.

• On September 26 at 17:00 there will be an All-Night Vigil with the Rite of the Exaltation of the Cross.
• Divine Liturgy will be held on September 25 and 27 at 8:00.
