A resident of Bashkortostan convicted of stealing two cars in the Leninsky district of Crimea

The Leninsky District Court issued a verdict in a criminal case against a resident of the Republic of Bashkortostan. He was found guilty under Part 1 of Art. 166 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft).
The court found that the visitor, while on the territory of the Leninsky district, while drinking alcohol with his friends, took the keys to a Hyundai Accent car without the owner’s permission, and then fled with it from the scene of the crime. Having lost control of the vehicle, the attacker caused a traffic accident and then fled. Further, having seen a VAZ 2103 car with the keys in the ignition lock, the man unlawfully took possession of the specified vehicle. Along the way, the defendant was detained by traffic police officers— the prosecutor’s office gave details.
The court sentenced the criminal to 1 year and 6 months of forced labor with 10% deduction from wages to the state income. The verdict did not enter into legal force.
