A resident of Dzhankoy kept a “stash” in his car under the driver’s seat and… paid for his arrogance
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The Dzhankoy police received a call from the local police commissioner that a resident of one of the villages had contacted him with a complaint about the theft of money from a car. The amount of damage amounted to… 390 thousand rubles (much more than the cost of the “safe”, that is, the owner’s Zhiguli).
As a result of operational search activities, police officers identified a 50-year-old local resident who had been previously convicted of a similar crime. The suspect confessed and said that the victim was his acquaintance. While at his home, he knew that there was a wallet with money under the driver’s seat of the car. At one point, he took his wallet out of the car and went home. He managed to dispose of part of the funds at his own discretion.— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
A criminal case was initiated on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Theft”). The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to 6 years.
