A resident of Kerch got caught in the «scheme» with maternity capital. What is the punishment given by the court?

In Kerch, the court passed a guilty verdict in a criminal case against a local resident. She was found guilty of committing a crime under Part 3 of Art. 159.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“fraud in the receipt of payments, committed on a large scale by a group of persons by prior agreement”).

The court found that the woman, being the mother of two children, in 2018 provided the territorial administration of the pension fund with deliberately unreliable information about the disposal of maternity capital funds, which she allegedly sent to pay off the debt to the cooperative for the construction of a house in the Chelyabinsk region.

For these purposes, the woman, together with unidentified persons, drew up fictitious documents necessary for the purchase of housing. On the basis of these documents, the defendant received more than 450 thousand rubles from the budget, which she disposed of not for the purpose of improving her living conditions— the prosecutor’s office revealed the details of the «scheme».

The Kerch city court sentenced the woman to 1 year of imprisonment with probation for 2 years. The verdict has not entered into force.
