A resident of Sevastopol almost lost his bag — he fell asleep at a public transport stop. The thief turned out to be “kind”

The moment of the crime, which occurred at a public transport stop, was recorded by a video surveillance camera.
It was established that in the morning, a 40-year-old local resident, walking around the city with his friend, discovered a sleeping man at a bus stop, intoxicated and with criminal intent. Having made sure that there were no strangers, he cut off the sleeping man’s shoulder bag with scissors, stepped aside, and then stole 13 thousand rubles from it. After this, the attacker decided to return the stolen accessory to his victim, but at that moment the victim woke up and, realizing that he had become a victim of a crime, caught up with the thief and held him until the police arrived,” announced the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol.
Officers from the criminal investigation department of the Russian Department of Internal Affairs in the Gagarinsky district arrived at the scene and detained the suspect.
A criminal case has been initiated against the detainee under paragraph “c” of Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Theft”, he faces up to five years in prison.
