A resident of Sevastopol stole more than 500 thousand rubles from pensioners

The prosecutor’s office of the Balaklava district of Sevastopol proved in court the guilt of a local resident who stole more than 500 thousand rubles from pensioners.
Having agreed with the position of the state prosecutor of the prosecutor’s office of the Balaklava district of Sevastopol, the court issued a guilty verdict in a criminal case against a local resident born in 1967. She was found guilty of committing six crimes under Part 2 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud). It was established that in the period from February 2019 to May 2020, having special knowledge of hearing testing and skills in preparing impressions for the subsequent manufacture of a hearing aid, the woman offered pensioners services for the purchase and repair of hearing aids. Using established trusting relationships with older people and abusing their trust, she received a total of more than 500 thousand rubles from six victims. In reality, she had no intention of fulfilling her obligations; she used the money she received at her own discretion.,” reported the press service of the Sevastopol prosecutor’s office.
The investigation into the criminal case was carried out by the investigative department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Balaklava district of Sevastopol.
The Balaklava District Court of Sevastopol sentenced the perpetrator to a fine in the amount of 400 thousand rubles and satisfied the civil claims of the victims, supported by the state prosecutor, to recover from the convicted person material damage caused by the crimes. The woman has already compensated for part of the damage during the criminal case.
The court’s verdict entered into legal force.
