A resident of Sevastopol wanted to receive income from shares. The scammers did not intend to “share”

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The Sevastopol police note: wanting to get rich at someone else’s expense, criminals resort to various tricks aimed at stealing the savings of gullible citizens. One common scam involves offering additional income by investing money.

Recently, a 65-year-old local resident, who had suffered from the actions of scammers, contacted the police. Employees of the Department of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Leninsky district established that in February of this year a woman found an advertisement on one of the websites with a tempting offer to receive income from the purchase of shares. Believing the promise of strangers and believing that she was acquiring securities that would later bring her profit, the victim spent several months transferring funds totaling more than 350 thousand rubles to accounts controlled by the scammers. However, she never received the promised dividends. Based on this fact, employees of the internal affairs bodies have opened a criminal case under Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Fraud” and are taking all necessary measures aimed at solving the crime,” noted the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol.

In order to prevent such cases Sevastopol police are calling be vigilant and careful. If you are offered to transfer funds to participate in any project, you need to critically evaluate the tempting offer you receive. Remember that most often the promise of quick and easy income by investing your money is a trick of scammers who want to steal your savings. In order not to suffer from a crime, do not transfer your funds to unfamiliar or unfamiliar citizens and organizations.

If you have suffered from a crime, you must immediately contact the nearest territorial unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia or call 102.
