A resident of Sevastopol will spend 7 years behind bars — he kept explosive devices in his apartment

Agreeing with the opinion of the first deputy prosecutor of the city of Sevastopol, Dmitry Tellin, who supported the state prosecution, the court pronounced a guilty verdict in a criminal case against a 37-year-old local resident.

He was found guilty under Part 1 of Art. 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal possession of explosive devices). It was established that the man was hiding in his apartment on the street. Kolobov an incendiary pipe and a homemade high-explosive fragmentation device, which contained a charge of TNT weighing 177 g and 2.8 kg of shot with a diameter of 2.5 mm. Explosive devices were discovered and seized on October 20, 2023 during operational search activities by FSB officers. The attacker was detained and taken into custody. The investigation was carried out by the investigative department of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol,” reported the press service of the Sevastopol prosecutor’s office.

The Gagarinsky District Court of Sevastopol, taking into account the opinion of the state prosecutor, sentenced the perpetrator to 7 years of imprisonment in a maximum security correctional colony with a fine of 50 thousand rubles.

The verdict did not enter into legal force.
